The Memory of Nations Institute is an educational and cultural center that connects modern history with contemporary social issues. Through lectures, panel discussions, guided walks, film screenings, and meetings with historians, journalists, documentary filmmakers, and eyewitnesses, it creates a space for open dialogue on freedom, democracy, civic engagement, human rights, and the role of media in society. In addition to its activities at the Strahov site, the Institute is expanding its program across various locations throughout Prague, gradually building a network of public spaces where people of different generations can meet, share experiences, and reflect on both the past and the present. The Institute’s mission is to present history not merely as a record of past events, but as a valuable tool for understanding the challenges of today’s world. Through authentic stories and personal testimonies, it encourages public discussion and inspires active participation in civic life.
